About Us

The Matthews family began selling cedar shakes and siding in 1977. We have since evolved from cedar shakes into cedar columns and decking components. Originally dealing through distributors across America, Mr. Spindle transitioned into a hybrid format that sells to lumber yards and homeowners directly. Our company now has over 400 unique styles of products.  We are still adding new profiles and patterns daily as we manufacture for historical restoration projects around the world and supply the finest cedar products available anywhere.

Our goal has always been to give our customers the very best decking and outdoor porch components possible. To ensure this, we have personally visited many of our partner mills to make sure they understand exactly the grades needed for the challenges involved in lathing and milling our Western Red Cedar products.
